Thank you for excellent editorial entitled "A blow to whistleblowers."
These recent actions of council and the mayor in bringing censure on Mr. Skakun remind me of the actions of a bully or an old boys club.
Mr. Skakun has clearly had a significant upheaval to his life when he made the difficult decision to break the law in order to expose a greater miscarriage of justice.
Most of us recognize his courage in choosing the option, which no doubt has caused significant personal distress (legal bills,the inevitable second guessing of one's own actions etc. etc.).
I commend you for your editorial which reminds us all of his courage in travelling the road less travelled.
In fact these recent actions of the mayor and the rest of council smack of nothing more than an opportunistic rush to political correctness at best and at worse a total commitment to a conspiracy of silence around the original question.
