Encouraging us to use anything but mail

So Canada post decides to up the tit for tat match and "punish the workers" by locking them out. The workers and carriers have all be very reasonable about this labour issue.

So Canada post decides to up the tit for tat match and "punish the workers" by locking them out. The workers and carriers have all be very reasonable about this labour issue. What I want to know is why the rest of the country has to suffer?

We see interviews on the news about small business laying off staff because they can't get their product out, online business where the parents is home to take care of children and provide for the family are losing money and most can't afford it. To get paid by automatic deposit it would have taken four months from when I sent papers in to when it would have started. Guess where that paper work is now? Canada Post says they are not liable for any fees or charges we, it's customers, gain while we are waiting for our mail. The lady I spoke to was honest enough to tell me yes she is still getting a nice pay check every week, she did not stop her lunch for our call, she gets extra for a working lunch!

I call on anyone who has something in the mail they are waiting for, be it cheques, bills, or a birthday card from Grandma, to write to the member of parliament and ombudsmen to let them know how this has impacted your life.

They never should have been allowed to stop the mail (management should be out there doing it). People with documentation should be able to get money back from Canada Post if it was the work stoppage that created the fees.

Lastly Canada post can't even keep us up to date on what is happening. Their site is four days behind and just shows an ad they put in only 19 papers across Canada reminding us there are better ways to get our bills and cheques. Talk about hanging yourself. You say you had low usage before.

Thanks for encouraging us to do everything we can other than use the mail.

I am not a letter carrier, related to a letter carrier or even know any personally, other than the one I wave to when they drop stuff at our box. I support all postal employees who are right now sitting waiting to do the job they love.
