Enbridge needs to be all in

Enbridge needs to get some skin in the game. Now that Enbridge has resorted to poetry in an attempt to sway British Columbians to warm to the idea of an oil pipeline across northern B.C. it seems they are fresh out of ideas.

Now that Enbridge has resorted to poetry in an attempt to sway British Columbians to warm to the idea of an oil pipeline across northern B.C. it seems they are fresh out of ideas. Here is a new one for Janet Holder.

At the same time that you are asking British Columbians and in particular native peoples to assume unlimited risk in the advent of a multi-billion dollar oil spill Enbridge has formed a limited partnership for the express purpose of limiting liability to its shareholders and board of directors.

For those people who are willing to consider the pipeline, but not on just any terms, it would go a long way if Enbridge took the step to dissolve the limited partnership and have shareholders and directors take on a risk as big as those being asked of the people living in the path of the pipeline.

If Enbridge really wants to convince B.C. that they have a vested interest in running the safest pipeline in the world they need to get some skin in the game and stop hiding behind the limited partnership liability protection.
