I always look forward with anticipation to Mr. Godbout's editorials. I may not always agree with his thoughts but I respect that they are cogent and intelligent.
His editorial on March 28, "Hard at work spending your money," was truly an eye-opener.
In it, he discussed the rash of financial handouts prior to the upcoming election. I clipped it for re-reading. In his follow-up editorial on April 11, "Change or status quo," he added last weekend's announcement of an upgrade to the University Hospital of Northern B.C. in the stupendous amount of $12.5 million.
This Liberal largesse is happening right across the province: Quesnel, Vanderhoof, Kelowna and Abbotsford, to name just a few. Do the local Liberal MPs and the whole Liberal caucus think that the voting public is so lacking in intelligence that its members cannot see the transparency in the subterfuge?
Mr. Godbout's most striking sentence contained the comparison of Liberal funding announcements in recent years: 20 in March of 2017; three in March of 2016; and none in March of 2015. Is this not called pork-barrelling?
