Finally, the managing editor has removed all doubt as to The Citizen's political bias with today's editorial "Harper big talk, no substance."
For the past year or so, I have noticed a gradual creep to the left in his editorials.
The creep has now turned into a gallop towards a socialist propaganda medium.
The only question remaining is, which socialist party will he declare that his humble subscribers should adopt, orange or red?
At least his lieutenant, Todd Whitcombe, leaves no doubt as to where he stands on the spectrum.
I also wonder how long Nathan Giede will be permitted to espouse his occasional views Right of Centre. Where, oh where, is Bruce Strachan when we need him!
I do not have a problem with opinion writers espousing particular views as long as the paper provides equal opportunity for opposing ones.
However, I do feel it is inappropriate for the managing editor to express the paper's political position such as today's editorial confirms.
The Citizen is a community newspaper, it is not the National Post.
