Dying puppy picture not for news print

How does a picture of a sick and dying puppy make it to the front page of a respectable newspaper? I guess it is a sad reflection of how our society is increasingly drawn to sentimental "pap" and that will make more customers purchase the newspaper.

I guess it is a sad reflection of how our society is increasingly drawn to sentimental "pap" and that will make more customers purchase the newspaper.

Well folks, if this is you, you should give your head a shake. A dying puppy abandoned by an owner who didn't have the knowledge or means to have it euthanized is not a story. Leaving it was a very bad thing to do, but not heinous or newsworthy.

It's impossible to say what really should be important but generally it concerns people's security or accomplishments. Beyond people and to animals? eally important sad news to me is not a dying puppy but a world where thousands of species of animals are going extinct due to human exploitation. Locally, caribou, grizzlies and many songbirds are in decline and face bleak prospects due to logging and human interference.

Dogs are cute little animals but we shouldn't buy a newspaper because of one suffering.
