You see it every day and you may even participate in it. It's the drivethru at fast food, coffee shops and numerous other places. Few, if any, give it a second thought using a drive-thru yet maybe you should because a good portion of drivers who use the drivethru come off as ignorant, conceited, silly and plain old jackassed.
You just have to listen to the staff, be outside near a vehicle ordering or at the counter inside listening. Drivers using the drive-thru can make anybody look smarter than them without trying hard. How many drivers lean out the window and yell at the box? It's just not a few people who do it either. Trust me all you need to do is talk normal because believe it or not the staff can hear you quite well. What's the use of having an order box when the cashier can hear you 50 feet away, not to mention everyone else hear you ordering a large coffee and a burger when you yell.
Then there are the bright ones that come late at night or early in the morning and order 15 breakfast sandwiches at night or 15 burgers in the morning then get angry when they are told it can't be done or it will be a 20 minute wait and then argue because it says fast food but apparently these drivers can't reason with common sense and believe me this actually happens quite a bit at some drive-thrus.
Then there are people who order get to the window and want to change their order after it's already been cooked and bagged. These people are definitely not the brightest cookies on the cookie sheet. Lastly are the ones who order get their meal, then park in the parking lot, then eat their food and more often than not deposit their garbage on the ground.
Wouldn't it just be easier to go in and order and sit down and enjoy your meal that way?
So for those of you who use the drive-thrus it might do you well to remember to use some common sense but then again that seems to be in short supply at the drive-thru.
