Don't roll back no-meter parking donwtown

Just something to think about for our mayor and councillors as they ponder the pros and cons of returning to parking meters downtown.

Just something to think about for our mayor and councillors as they ponder the pros and cons of returning to parking meters downtown.

Have you thought about what it would mean for the seniors (or anyone) to have to walk on icy streets in the winter from car to ticket vending machine, go back to the car to put the ticket on the dashboard, and then depending on how far you are from your destination; manoeuvre the usual hazard of icy streets in winter?

I have always loved the downtown (nostalgia maybe, because I have been here all my life) and go there regularly even though I live in College Heights. Incidentally, I also have been paying taxes here for all of my adult life and am still doing it, so I feel I am paying for parking already. We have spent so much to improve the downtown and it is working in a positive way. Thanks for that. Lunch downtown In one of our great restaurants is a treat that I enjoy as an outing. One dollar for one hour of parking is outrageous. For anyone having a leisurely lunch it would mean more than one hour, so there goes four dollars to add to the price of our lunch. The system we have now would work fine if the city would collect the outstanding fines.

Prince George is on a roll now so don't go backwards.
