Don’t lecture me

Eco-tourism is an oxymoron; there ain't no such thing. When you think about it, every construction site, vehicle and joule of energy expressed as tourism is unnecessary and surplus to requirements.

Eco-tourism is an oxymoron; there ain't no such thing.

When you think about it, every construction site, vehicle and joule of energy expressed as tourism is unnecessary and surplus to requirements. Why then is the jet set the most likely to lecture us on environmentalism? It is only to preserve their expensive playground at the expense of their fellow human beings.

I think it's great that some can afford to roar off to Costa Rica and spend a few days wandering the jungle, or plop a couple kayaks (that would cost me a month's wages or more) on top of the SUV and rumble off for a few days of quiet and relaxation along the shore.

It must be great fun to scream off to Paris in a jet and dance the night away murmuring about climate change as the fountains tinkle and splash.

I just wish I wouldn't be lectured to like a sinner for working in industries that provide the fuel for their toys, the wiring and plumbing and flooring and windows and roofing and furniture and electronics, the constant stream of groceries (organic too) and sundries that make life so comfortable.

And I'm supposed to be happy that millions of tax dollars are subsidizing the embarrassment of things like transit?

Enormous garages full of expensive busses, drivers, mechanics driving up and down with two or three passengers?

Billions of dollars spent spanning the mighty Fraser so a couple hundred passengers can pass over every few minutes?

I'd like these "experts" to stop "fixing" things before we are bankrupt, homeless and possibly wandering around in an artificially created ice age.

It has gotten so bad we have a drama teacher for prime minister signing accords that I will warrant he hasn't read and would have trouble deciphering if he took the time.

Obviously freedom of the press has been hijacked by an elite intent on bringing us back to the days of land barons and indentured serfs.

But I suppose you're not even allowed to mention media concentration any more (did I just trigger a CSIS watch program?) as it wouldn't do to have John and Susie Public thinking and wondering about the truth.
