I'm not talking about whispering to friends about your favourite place to eat out or buy shoes, I'm talking about shouting the news to the broadest audience possible. There are so many great businesses in Prince George offering superior customer service, creating dynamic workplaces, taking innovative risks, honouring the environment, and giving back to their community. It is time to celebrate these businesses in a big way by nominating them for a Business Excellence Award. Nominations for awards are now open and will close on September 5th, 2012.
The Business Excellence Awards Gala will take place on Saturday, October 20th, 2012 at the Coast Inn of the North. The theme of this year's event is the Academy Awards and it will be our community's opportunity to recognize businesses in ten different award categories including: Business Person of the Year, Tourism Impact Award, Service Excellence, and Environmental Leadership.
Why nominate? By nominating your favourite local business, you will be giving them exposure and public recognition which may in turn lead to more business for them as well as an increased sense of pride. Who doesn't like to be recognized for hard work and outstanding results? We need to say thank you more often and nominating your favourite business for an award is one of the most meaningful ways to do this.
Who should you nominate? The easiest way to answer this question is to think about the businesses in Prince George that you return to again and again. There is a reason why you are a repeat customer; it may be the great service, the amazing product, the community support that the business gives to your kid's soccer team?
