Fourth Avenue might go two-way. I read this morning that city council is once again thinking about converting fourth avenue to two-way.
Last great brain storm to turn Third Avenue into two-way is a drivers nightmare. Traffic ran smoothly before the change. No turn lanes on the corner of Third and Victoria create nothing but a traffic jam. Try driving around that area in the middle of a busy work day. Maybe three or four cars actually get through the light because we are all waiting for someone to turn. Idling cars are not good for our air quality either. You think that holding up local drivers is going to make us see the stores that are down there and then want to come downtown shopping. Really?
There are many great shops downtown but creating a traffic jam in front of them isn't something that will get me to shop there.
If it's not broke, don't fix it.
