Do unto others...

I so look forward to reading Neil Godbout's editorials. They are one of the treasures in this community I have come to call home. Last Thursday's editorial, Words to live by , is one I am going to re-read often.

Yes, the gospels are filled with encouragement.

The Matthew passage that encourages us all to "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" is one that resides in most religious groups. What I hope is that those of us who are supportive of the inclusion of all folks, including LGBTQ (I am one of those) and those who are opposed - as Ness Lake Bible Camp administrators seem to be - will treat each other in the way we wished to be treated.

As the 13th century poet, Mevlana Jelaluddin Rumi said, "out beyond ideas of wrong doing and right doing, there is a field. I'll meet you there." I hope we all can meet there, and if we do, I believe we are changing the world.
