Disrespect for the law

If recall is dead, the reasons for it are not. This government has twice exhibited its disrespect for the law. The B.C. Supreme Court in 2011 and again in 2014 ruled it unconstitutional to deny the B.C.

If recall is dead, the reasons for it are not.

This government has twice exhibited its disrespect for the law. The B.C. Supreme Court in 2011 and again in 2014 ruled it unconstitutional to deny the B.C.Teachers Federation right to negotiate class size among other issues.

This government has accused the BCTF of walking away from the negotiating table when it was renowned mediator, Vince Ready, who walked away in frustration.

This government does not pay its bills. In 2002 teachers were legislated a 7.5 per cent salary increase over three years. Instead it paid only for the first year's increase and froze the K-12 budget at 2001 levels for the three-year term of the contract.

This government sacrificed our children's future on the altar of low corporate taxes.

How do we get Education Minister Peter Fassbender and any other like-minded ministers to support our teachers and our public school system?

Recall anyone?
