So in that atmosphere, it's not surprising that when the Donald allegedly called some countries shitholes, we're repeatedly told that this is blatant racism.
Allegedly because though there were other people in that room, none have come forward to either confirm or deny. I suspect it might have been something he muttered to himself that was overheard. Was he crude, insulting and offensive? Absolutely. But was his characterization accurate? Yes, it was.
El Salvador is such a wonderful place that fully a third of all Salvadorans now reside in the U.S. - they've been granted long term visas so they won't have to return to the little hellhole that recently celebrated the fact that they actually had a day without a murder.
Haitians have also been granted special dispensation to stay in the U.S. rather than have to return. Interestingly, Haiti shares an island with the Dominican Republic, same resources, same climate, yet while Haiti is a shithole, Dominican Republic is a tropical paradise, a desirable tourist destination. Former governor general Michaelle Jean feels deeply insulted that Haiti, the country her family fled in 1968 was thus described. One has to wonder, if it was so wonderful, why did they flee?
What makes a country a shithole? Corruption, crime and culture. Mostly corruption.
Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that a few decades later, liberals would be pushing the lie that Western civilization is no better than a third-world country. Or would teach two generations of our kids that loving your own culture and wanting to preserve it are racism.
So was Trump's comment actually racist? To those who think he walks on water, no, he can do no wrong. To those who suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome, yes, even the act of breathing makes him racist.
It goes without saying that many people disagree with my take on this incident. Fine, we all have our own opinions. But for those who feel the need to refute my points, kindly respond to what I actually said, rather than inventing false positions and attributing them to me as was done in the recent past.
