I just couldn't resist responding to Peter Sherba's letter about the NDP on Sept. 30.
When a person puts their thoughts into print they should do a little research first. For example, he said that "In the '90s all they did was raise the debt, lose jobs, put our credit rating in the tank (last in North America)."
I googled B.C. debt statistics and found a government website with this report. "British Columbia's debt-per-capita and debt-to-gross-domestic-product ratios remain the second lowest in Canada."
This report was for March 31,2001 and was signed by Gary Collins (newly elected MLA and minister of finance). I wonder if Peter is suggesting that a B.C. Liberal finance minister would lie.
Oops, he might have me there.
