Mayor Green, I have written in the past about the job you had been doing, and how most of the city's ails were left over from the previous regime. I thought you had made some right moves and were on the right track. The core review, all the road work done last year, snow removal was okay, but now it seems it is going to be more of the old school.
First I personally came under a lot of flack for being on the support side for you.
I can tell you now though that my ire has been pushed a little far, when Mayor and Council decide not to listen to the constituents of our city and go against overwhelming majority, they are no longer for the people. You and council have overstepped the bounds, by sidestepping the OCP and changing it to meet the needs of a few of the proponents of the Haldi Lake issue.
As stated in a previous letter to you, I asked how could the proponents be let off of the legal costs they are causing to be incurred and the taxpayers are going to be left with the bills ? I would think there will be another court battle over this, and you would think that the people that put up the money to have their day in court earlier are against it. I have no feeling personally in this battle with the exception of council not listening to the community again.
Just about everything the city can raise taxes on it has, but oh right, that's not called taxes, its called city service. I see also residential taxes are about to take another leap, oh well I guess when the city budget is done, you can all give yourselves a raise to cover these added expenses, or maybe take a few more trips to Asia to take care of business, or should I say relax and enjoy.
I feel quite poorly that I misjudged you so badly and was taken by the story you had to tell when running, I guess most of the ones that ostracized me were right.
Oh well, there will be a next time.
An ex fan,
