Samantha Wright Allen's article on former trustee Kate Cooke's departing speech may have somehow missed its mark. The headline itself--which I concede might not have been written by Ms Wright Allen--sets a biased tone that carries through the article undermining Cooke's voice as bitter instead of hopeful for change.
Based on the one word quote attributed to Sharel Warrington, one might infer that being a "questioner" is a problem; however, is that not what everyone on such a board should be doing? Knowing Kate Cooke, I believe we have, in fact lost an intelligent, passionate, and competent advocate for our students, and I hope the new voices will also speak so loudly.
