Re: Chicago Cubs pick P.G.'s Young in MLB draft
Having watched Jared as a youngster, I was pleased to see he has been noticed by the Cubs.
On the surface this is a success by Jared, however, I believe if Jared was given the opportunity, he would give much of the credit to his extended family, his parents, his coaches, the many fans and friends that encouraged him from a young age, and the organization in Kelowna that allowed him to participate in their program and further hone his skills.
It has been said that it takes a community to motivate success. I believe that this is true, however, the executive, the coaches, the groundskeepers and the storekeepers who faithfully and daily give of their time and resources year after year share in Jared's success.
As teammates of Jared's will recall all the practices, games, traveling and tournaments, they also were a part of Jared's success.
Congratulations to Prince George as a hometown, and all who supported Jared in his journey, especially mom, dad, family and friends, for a job well done.
To Jared, we are proud of your accomplishments and will be watching your successes.
