It is always sad when people are killed in any way, particularly a family.
This family was well known and did a lot for our city. I want to say something about Heather, the fifth person in the car.
I go in to Simon Fraser Lodge to see my wife five times a week, and Heather's sunny smile and cheerful greeting always took the bite out of the pain of seeing a loved one deteriorating as my wife is. That cheerful "Hello" always softened my pain and gave me a lift. The efficient way that notices and receipts were dispatched were much appreciated.
Although the staff in there are all friendly and courteous, that first greeting when going in is already being missed.
Rest in peace Heather.
The sun isn't shining so bright without your smile.
