I would like to send out "kudos" to everyone who helped out in the city clean up this past weekend; and especially Angie, for organizing the University Heights efforts. What an amazing difference it made to our neighbourhood and the city! It was both heartening and disheartening to be involved in the clean-up; disheartening to see how much litter had collected along our pathways and roads over the winter, and heartening to see so many people of all ages care enough to help clean it up.

Littering is completely unnecessary and easily prevented.

Take a bag with you to put garbage in, and if you drop something pick it up. We are entrusted to look after the Earth and we all need to be responsible for it. With the good weather, so many people are out walking now. if everyone picked up just two pieces of garbage on their walk it would go a long way in keeping our city clean. Maybe we could even challenge other cities for the "Cleanest City in B.C" title! How refreshing would that be?
