I just wanted to write and say thanks to the highway maintenance crews that were out during Christmas day. I travelled from Fort St. James to Quesnel on Christmas Day with my wife, and with snow on the road I saw a number of snow plows out.
It is easy to forget that during the holidays these workers are called out at a moments notice, called away from families and holiday celebrations to ensure that the highways are safe for others who are traveling to see their families and to celebrate their holidays.
I also wanted to thank the many travellers who stopped and checked on us and after we had stopped to give shelter to a woman who had run off the highway and was waiting with her baby for her family to pick her up.
I think it gave great comfort to the woman that so many were concerned with her safety.
