First off, a big thank you to Frank Peebles for attempting to help us get the ball rolling in our efforts to obtain permission to broadcast from a tower (yet to be erected) on Carney Hill.
Unfortunately, the article appearing in the Dec. 28 edition of the Prince George Citizen is outdated by two weeks and needs some clarification.
The meeting at city hall mentioned in the article took place two weeks ago, and while we did not receive the green light we were hoping for, there was some progress made which will be followed up in the new year.
One thing missing in the article was a statement I made that we have not had any dealings with Telus in regards to the proposed transmitter site and information pertaining to these dealings would have to be obtained from the Prince George Amateur Radio Club.
The assertion that "Telus was already openly supportive of ARC's plans" reads a bit more than originally intended into my statement that Telus does not have a problem with the radio club's current set up.
In closing, I will pass along my apologies to the parties involved for the tone of my words in the article. While some of the facts expressed in quotation marks can be attributed to me, the phrasing and feeling of the quotes are foreign to my recollection of what was actually expressed in the interview.
Thank you for this opportunity to clarify the current situation.
