City sits and watches as people keep falling

I have witnessed many accidents, some of which required ambulances and many of which involved police and all are the result of the City of Prince George failing to act.

I have witnessed many accidents, some of which required ambulances and many of which involved police and all are the result of the City of Prince George failing to act.

Situated between 20th Avenue and Porter Avenue is a break in Norwood Street where a steep hard gravel trail replaces an 80 - 100 foot portion of the street.

This is virtually an embankment which is being eroded by weather and assisting the erosion is the foot traffic.

I have seen too many accidents in the form of falling, bicycle crashes, and even one electric scooter upset, which involved police and ambulance.

Some have been quite gruesome, to the point of watching a young man skid approximately 20-25 feet on his face and chest. He stood up covered in blood.

I have contacted the City of Prince George several times over the last five years and many city foremen have come to see the spectacle. My question? Why can't this area receive steps (like the yellow stairs on Connaught Hill) or be fenced off for safety reasons?

The City could be sued after broken ribs, broken neck or back result, according to my lawyer. This is blatant negligence.

Stairs are not a necessity as Cuddie Crescent and Oak Street both offer safer trails, but this danger zone should be inaccessible or made safer.

In the meantime, I will continue assisting bleeding people and calling police and ambulances.

So far, I'm told the supervisor says he will take a look into the problem.
