City not listening

Mayor Green and Bill Gaal: After numerous discussions with both of you over the past two winters, I have come to the conclusion that both of you are just playing politics with me and other seniors, disabled and other pedestrians who struggle our way

Mayor Green and Bill Gaal:

After numerous discussions with both of you over the past two winters, I have come to the conclusion that both of you are just playing politics with me and other seniors, disabled and other pedestrians who struggle our way across the Hart Highway due to the lack of proper snow removal by the City of Prince George. It is obvious that you have no interest in the safety of pedestrians anywhere in the Hart area.

YRB does their part in maintaining the areas around the signal standards so pedestrians can reach the push button for the walk signal.

We, the pedestrians, have been maintaining our own trail from the NE signal standard to the shopping centre where Home Hardware and Tim Horton's are located, for many years now. On Dec. 15 to 21 loaders working for the City of Prince George, buried our trail under eight to 10 feet of snow, since they do not want pedestrians using this intersection. Bill Gaal was contacted but he refused to have the equipment under his direction remove this overburden of snow so we could re-establish our trail. It should be noted that these loaders and a grader spent extended periods of time at the Hart Tim Horton's establishment during the week, but they only had time to destroy our trail and no time to make pedestrian access safer at this dangerous intersection.

I have photographed the snow accumulations at this intersection, creating the unsafe conditions for pedestrians, repeatedly over the past two winters and sent the photos to the City of Prince George, including Mayor Green and Bill Gaal, who have continued to ignore the danger that exists, when the City has been advised of the conditions.

I will continue to photograph and advise the media of the situation at this intersection since my efforts to have the minimal amount snow removal work done through discussions with Mayor Green and Bill Gaal have be fruitless to say the least.
