Once again, our governing BC Liberals are in the spotlight for the wrong reasons.
Here we have BC taxpayers (read BCLC) now subsidizing money laundering operations (read casinos).
The $400 million kickback makes the $6 million bailout for legal fees for convicted criminals Basi/Virk look like chump change. Problem is we're the chumps providing the all that change.
Meanwhile, legitimate charity organizations like the Hart Senior's Centre will likely have to close their doors.
Perhaps they should start dealing to make ends meet.
We have an emperor and his minions with no clothes (Gordo and his lackeys) as they continue to give the taxpayer the finger.
First we had the revenue neutral carbon tax which took $796 million from the pockets of the average citizen and are giving $412 million of that collected revenue to industry and big business this year.
Then we had the HST which robbed the electorate of roughly $2 billion to give to big business and industry while being told this will stimulate our economy.
Does anyone notice a difference in how our economy is now "stimulated" because big business is suddenly falling over themselves to hire more workers?
I think not. Robbing Hood (read Gordo) marches on as he decimates social programs to give to the already wealthy and the criminals.
When the CBC broke the money laundering link to BC Casinos, Paul Burns (VP of Canadian Gaming Association) said "casinos aren't in the job of catching criminals."
Duh! Leave that to the airline industry I guess.
It's somehow OK to subject ordinary travelers to pat downs and X-ray scans (war on terror) but heaven forbid a casino operator might have to ask someone with a suitcase full of $20 bills (financier of terror) some questions because they might be offended and take their business elsewhere.
What a choice the electorate is left with - socialists or our corrupt governing party.
The Liberal/Conservative coalition has outlived its usefulness and it's time they were punted from office!
We need a third party, maybe something like the "Bloc Taxpayer."
