During National Volunteer Week, which ends Saturday, the Canadian Cancer Society encourages Canadians to celebrate the volunteers in their community. We also extend sincere thanks and appreciation to our amazing volunteers who selflessly donate time, effort, and enthusiasm to help "make cancer history."
Thousands of volunteers continue to help others cope with cancer through prevention, information, advocacy, research and support initiatives. This year, we launched a new campaign, providing the opportunity for British Columbians to wear a "badge of courage" on April 9 - a daffodil pin to show support for those who have been touched by cancer. Once again, we were overwhelmed by the dedication of volunteers who made this initiative possible.
Volunteers make an immeasurable contribution to our community's health and well being. During National Volunteer Week especially, we encourage everyone to take time to thank someone who volunteers. And to all our volunteers, who make such a tremendous difference for those affected by cancer - we thank you with all our heart.
