CBC should focus on real news

So I am watching the CBC regarding this fiasco regarding our Minister of Defense and his exaggerated role he played regarding our participation in the conflict in Afghanistan for which he has apologized.

So I am watching the CBC regarding this fiasco regarding our Minister of Defense and his exaggerated role he played regarding our participation in the conflict in Afghanistan for which he has apologized.

As he said, he contributed but was not the architect. Fair enough. Our mother corporation discusses this for 20 minutes on Power and Politics and about the same time on Question Period.

To gain some insight into what is relevant in the world, I tune into CNN and Fox to learn that the USS Carl Vincent is steaming toward the South China Sea in order to act as a deterrent to North Korea's nuclear ambitions and a possible face-to-face meeting with President Trump and Kim Jung Un.

That's news, folks.

The CBC reminds me of a couple that attend a delightful dinner party with a wonderful ambiance of wine, food, great setting and conversation only to remind each other on the way home that there was too much garlic in the chip dip.

Our national broadcaster should concern itself with the news that matters. We the taxpayers support the CBC by over a billion dollars a year. Maybe the old adage is true. You get what you pay for.
