Caring for Prince George

Perhaps the city should buy the Legion building and then trade it for the old theatre location that people wanted to put the Coyotes night club in to. Then make that location into a multi-use facility housing several non-profit groups in it such as Prince George Farmers' Market, The Legion, The ELKS Lodge, The Royal Purple Lodge and possibly others. The facility could also have a central area that could be rented for special occasions such as fundraising events, dances, concerts, festivals etc.

There would not be a bar in the facility. If groups want to sell alcoholic drinks at events, they could apply for special occasion licenses.

The non-profit groups could pay rent that would cover the operation and repairs of the building.

The facility could be overseen by a committee with representatives from each of the groups housed in the building.

The Coyotes night club could then be located in the central downtown core, close to hotels and in a non-residential area.

You know it could work.

Perhaps people will say that the city cannot afford this expenditure at this time. I say, can they afford not to give back to the above non-profit groups that have worked, and continue to work, diligently to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to be given to our community, to help make Prince George a great community.

Its just good business!
