Candidate quality doesn't trump party policies

Should you vote for the party with the policies you like, or should you vote for the person who is running in your jurisdiction because you like he or she more than the other candidate, regardless of the political party? That is an interesting questi

Should you vote for the party with the policies you like, or should you vote for the person who is running in your jurisdiction because you like he or she more than the other candidate, regardless of the political party? That is an interesting question. In my opinion, If your party gets in and that person gets a cabinet position they may have some clout? Great. What more could you ask for? However voting entirely for a person because you may like he or she better than another candidate personally, when the party policy is not your favourite political view, is just plain crazy. Once they get in, they have to follow party policy and not their own. If they don't, the party whip soon whips them into shape and you rarely hear another peep from them.

Luckily, I do like the person running in my jurisdiction, still my priority is the policies of my preferred party. I will be voting for the policies of the party I believe in.

Get out and vote everyone. It is a privilege many people in this world of ours do not have.
