We have finally seen a long standing burning desire come to a realization with the recent opening of the Cancer Clinic for the North in Prince George.
This is due to the unbridled determination of the people of Prince George who challenged the governments of the time to build such a centre. After many setbacks, finally through the vision of the Liberal government under the direction of Gordon Campbell and our tireless MLAs, a new chapter in Cancer Care has been opened for our northern cancer patients. They will now receive well-deserved treatment closer to home without , in many cases,experiencing the burdens of long
distance travel, the added expense, and being away from the caring and support of their families.
Let us move forward with innovative therapies, a robust preventative program, and meaningful research, with the hope that some day the need for cancer clinics will be a thing of the past.
