Canada Day is a celebration of all that is great about our country - it honours our past, our present and our future.
And, as Canadians there really is so much that we can be proud of.
Throughout the centuries, people from all walks of life have helped to build our nation. Our incredible diversity and pioneering spirit have enriched the Canadian experience and become our nation's greatest strengths.
Canada's growing prominence on the world stage has afforded us the opportunity to be a global leader and stand as a beacon of hope and prosperity, as we promote Canadian values of freedom, democracy and the rule of law abroad.
Every day, the commitment to these values and, the hard work and determination of people here in our community and across the country contribute to Canada's great legacy. Having inherited this great nation, through the sacrifice and commitment of those before us, let us continue to build a stronger Canada for generations to come.
With our rich history, expansive natural and cultural heritage, strong values and sense of purpose, we are truly fortunate to call Canada home.
It is a great privilege to serve as your Member of Parliament and to celebrate Canada Day here in beautiful Northeastern BC.
