Letter to Shari Green

Hi Shari, I have always been the type of guy to give credit where credit is due, and it is time to give you a few accolades. When I left for holidays in the beginning of July, there was no money for roads etc., when I returned in August they were done, what a pleasant surprise. You looked at trimming some costs and through attrition etc., cut a few jobs, Bravo. You are the one that initiated the core review, and as we wait for the final draft to come down to see where we as a city, and myself as a taxpayer can save money, I anxiously await to see it. I can only hope that council, has the intestinal fortitude to carry through with some of the recommendations, through job cutting both management and excess manpower, regardless of the fact these are covered by agreement. If the need to cut is there and money can be saved, then the onus is on the city to do so. If contracting out is a money saver, then lets get to it.

Shari, it likely will be a tough row to hoe, but for the benefit of the taxpayer, it must be done.

Hopefully the right choices will be made.
