Re; The loss of funding for the Hart Senior Centre
My wife and I live south of the city and we are not member of any senior centres although we have been at functions at most of them and have always been welcomed.
We believe it would be a social disaster for seniors if any centres have to close because of a loss of government funding, since the senior population in the city is still growing.
The government of Mr. Campbell obviously has the right to channel its funds wherever it chooses, and so do we!
Today and going forward, we will stay out of the casino and resist buying lottery tickets and we will channel the saving into functions at the Senior Centres.
We invite all seniors and those who expect to become seniors to recognize the importance of the Centres and to assist in keeping them all open and actively functioning.
