I wish to thank both the candidates from the B.C. Liberals and the NDP for assuring me that they will provide for people with disabilities and the elderly, and others at risk in our communities.
However, as someone who has spent my entire career assisting people with disabilities and the elderly, I wish to make a point that, without a strong economy, a balanced budget and skilled MLAs, history has shown the last people to receive funding are most often people needing care.
I have seen governments come and go, and only under the B.C. Liberals have I seen funding not only continue, but increase for those most in need.
I wish to thank Shirley Bond, in particular, who time and time again helped me with contacts who would in turn help me to navigate a very complicated system, ensuring my clients would receive what was due to them. Shirley has always had time for me and my clients, and treated us with the utmost respect.
