Bike lane problems

Myself and several others have businesses along 15th Avenue and Quinn Street.

With the new bike lane that is right outside my front door on 15th, I and the other tenants will have nowhere to park. This building has zero parking so we and our customers have nowhere to park.

The Taekwon-Do school will have nowhere for students to be dropped off by their parents and we are talking a lot of small children.

Other customers that come to us for first aid and safety courses will have nowhere to park so they will go elsewhere. I am physically disabled and it will be very difficult for me to load and unload from a side street.

Another owner uses the handicapped parking spot, so what will he do? Four businesses are in danger of shutting down, never mind the other half of the vacant building which will probably stay that way.

I am very aware of the health benefits to individuals that bike instead of drive and I'm also aware that it is the right thing to do for the environment but let's have a little common sense.

There is a frontage road on the opposite side of 15th from all these businesses that would give a safe path for those traveling this route.

I have been in this location for five years and the little bike traffic I do see goes down to almost zero when the snow flies. Hello, we get some snow here.

Too bad, too sad is all you get from downtown.

Make no mistake it will be more than us four at this location that will be closing our doors for good.

Some of us would probably be paying taxes to go to new bike lanes for years to come but we won't be doing that cause we will be gone.
