Bias all round for Haldi Road

If anyone should be opting out of voting on the Haldi road debate it should be Mr.

If anyone should be opting out of voting on the Haldi road debate it should be Mr. Don Basserman who spoke at the third reading by city council quite fondly of his years living in the Haldi area, and the attachment he has with the residents he remains friends with out there.

If anyone were to have an overly biased opinion or conflict of interest in such a vote I would think it would be he, who is influenced by his friends who are clearly in opposition to the proposed re-zoning.

In my opinion, Shari Green's backing out of voting on the debate shows an unfortunate weakness on her part, in regards to making decisions and sticking with them. How is it a conflict of interest to to be associated with a volunteer?

This is a small world (especially within PG) and we all cross paths and have to work together on a regular basis. Is it not better to make informed decisions? What does this say about Green's ability to make unbiased decisions if she feels she cannot engage this topic with a neutral and fact based approach? Can she do so with other issues ?

Personally, I feel this is an attempt to remain neutral in an attempt to gain election votes. This current matter is for the current council, not the "council in waiting" to be voted upon by PG citizens in the near future, and should be dealt with by our city council as such.
