Better parks

Improve our parks and water parks in this city for our families and teenagers to use. Or A performing art center for the 10% of the city population who feel we need one. I felt I had to write this and submit it to the members of our city council.

Or

A performing art center for the 10% of the city population who feel we need one.

I felt I had to write this and submit it to the members of our city council.

I had some of my grandkids here for three weeks in July and sure got an eye opener as to the state of our parks and things for families to do here.

I went to our main park (South Fort George) one day and could not believe the little playground there and the state it was in.

I was born here and will have to say that this park has not changed very much since I played there as a youngster.

Then I took them to, what I guess is, a water park and again it has not changed since my kids where young enough to play there and they are in their thirties. One has to be pushing a button every few minutes to get what is there to run.

I have been to parks and water parks in at least four of the cities our councilors have compared us to for different things from size of council to wages for staff and managers of our city and all I can say is we should maybe compare our parks, waterparks and activates for our families and teenage population.

So before the city even entertains the thought of a performing art center, they need to address what is needed for the majority of the population of this great city.
