This past weekend I had the privilege to be on the Portland Winterhawk Booster Club bus trip that made the trip to your city to see the Hawks play the Cougars.
From the moment we arrived at the Visitor Centre until we left Sunday morning we were made to feel welcome and at home by the wonderful citizens, fans and team management in Prince George.
Upon arriving at the hotel we received gift bags that had been collected from local groups and then we found more gift bags from the Cougars waiting in our rooms. At the CN Centre we were greeted on the bus by the team vice-president and escorted into the arena where countless fans welcomed us over the course of the next two nights and applauded us whenever our group was announced over the PA system.
Right before we left the game Saturday evening we were given bags of Old Dutch ketchup chips and boxes of Smarties which we enjoyed on our trip home.
Prince George, you are a class act! Every team should send fans to your wonderful city just so they can experience what we did. It was a long, long ride on the bus but the people of Prince George made it well worthwhile.
