I write this comment with the intention of voicing my opinion and it is not meant, in anyway, to take away from the joyous arrival of the Hohmann baby. However, why would the New Year's baby for Prince George be awarded to a Quesnel resident? Prince George had its very own newborn delivered at 5:33 a.m. on January 1, 2013 at the University of Northern British Columbia to a wonderful young couple, making this their second child.
Not only are they going to miss out on all the wonderful gifts supplied by local businesses, but they are not even mentioned in the front page article of the Prince George Citizen Jan 2, 2013.
Come on, Prince George you can do better then that - support locally is what I always hear and yet you fail to recognize your very own in this situation. Not impressed.
