Sacred Heart school teams will participate in the annual Knights of Columbus volleyball tournament this weekend. Sandra Wyatt will visit the school this week as part of the Scientist-in-Schools program. Sandra will focus on asthma and anti-smoking education for primary students. The Grade 2/3 students will participate in the City of P.G. aquafit challenge at the Four Seasons Pool this week. Mrs. Kearns is getting ready for the annual book fair in the newly-renovated library. The book fair will take place during parent/teacher interviews Nov. 25, 26. Students at Sacred Heart school love to walk to the Two Rivers Art Gallery. Ms. Ruddy'sGrade 6/7 class visited the gallery last week.

Prince George Secondary school students who attained Honour Roll, Principal's List and Excellence in Personal Achievement were recognized by the administration and office team. Thursday is early dismissal. Students will head home at 2 p.m. Parent/teacher night takes place 5 to 7 p.m. This weekend, PGSS is hosting the senior boys and girls volleyball zone championships. Our junior teams are heading off to their zone championships as well. Next week, our drama department begins it's presentation of Twelfth Night. There are matinee performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and evening performances run from Tuesday to Saturday. Contact the front office for more information.

Volleyball players at Immaculate Conception school have been practicing hard under coaches Miss Ames and Mrs. Schenk. This weekend they will compete in the annual Knights of Columbus Volleyball Tournament. The school choir will sing on Monday at the annual Festival of Trees. All of the students are eagerly awaiting the news to see if our parent Dr. Chris Opio made it into Canada's top 10 Champions of Change. The school has worked closely with Dr. Opio to improve the lives of people in northern Uganda.

Nukko Lake school is presenting a silent auction at the school on Friday. Doors open at 6 p.m., entertainment starts at 6:45p.m. There is something for everyone. Come and do your Christmas shopping!

St.Mary's school will be hosting the annual Knights of Columbus Volleyball Tournament on Friday and Saturday. Teams from Sacred Heart and Immaculate Conception School will be participating.

Mrs. Fowlie's Grade 3 class will be having family members in today for their "Gathering Ceremony." Mrs. Soares, our librarian, will be hosting a week long book fair in the library. Come on out and check out the "African" theme as well as some great books.

cole Heather Park elementary school had it's first leadership event of the year, with a "Jersey Day." Students wore their favourite sports jersey to show some school spirit. Some classes had 95-98 per cent participation. To top the afternoon off, we hosted a volleyball playday. Co-ed teams from Glenview and Hart Highlands came to participate in this non-competitive event. Grade 7 student, Olivia M is the winner of the recent mascot design at the school. We are now the Heroes. We now have another school-wide contest to decide what virtues Heroes will stand for.
