Can anyone tell me if Prince George needs a serious look at the needs of this area for a new or improved hospital facility?
I came to P.G. in 1964 and the staff shortages and facility inefficiencies were cited as being the same then as they are now.
On a recent visit to emergency, where i was brought in by ambulance, not really knowing what was wrong with me, I was on a bed in the hallway for seven hours before getting to see a doctor.
Is this truly normal and acceptable for any reason in a city the size of Prince George which serves the northern half of B.C.?
I, for one, do not think so. I was placed in the hall next to the entrance where the floors were wet and very dirty due to winter snow and ice. To go to the washroom, I walked with my IV pole alone through the waiting room with only socks on.
There truly has to be something better.
When I asked why the long wait, I was told staff and facility shortages .
Can't anyone with clout do something about this?
I'm truly appalled.
Maybe a new swimming pool would help.
