The Core Services Review recommended the City adopt a tax increase, an increase and addition of license fees and a cutback in City services. Here's one license fee I bet they didn't think of. Since the City needs to adopt some serious financial measures to deal with the lack of revenue, let's propose that each of the City Administration's staff, who see nothing wrong with tax and spend ideologies, each be levied a 10 per cent of salary "Administrator's License" fee. This License fee would be transparent, applied evenly across the board and even if it didn't make much of a dent in the City's fiscal shortfall, it "would give the City another tool to use to deal with problem administrators". If this works the target group could be expanded to include members of Council too!
Hmmm, wonder if this will catch on?
