I think the article Cal wrote on disasters and God's punishment in clergy comment is one that everyone should read. In this article Cal gives us good understanding of how great works are done, making room for a miracle amid a negative situation.
Over the years I have been appalled by the shallow judgmental view that so many around religion have taken as they relegate every thing that happens in the universe to someone who committed a sin somewhere.
While we know that sin has its consequences, we cannot prove that every tragedy is related to sin.
It is refreshing to hear about the good that is manifest during the hard times in Japan. God is working through loving, non-judgmental people in a powerful way in these days. I want to be part of those who move in with acts of mercy rather than notions of judgment.
