Your article re your own experience with bullying appeared in a recent edition of the Winnipeg Free Press. It's particularly timely and I'm sure brings back many school-day memories. Countless of us did not participate in the actual bullying but neither did we have the courage to step forward and voice our objections to the perpetrators, although we knew in our hearts we should. I think we did not out of fear we would be the next victim and did not know if we were strong enough. Teenage years are fraught with uncertainty and this is where adults really should step in. They are the ones who can insist on proper behaviour (with consequences) without fear of retaliation from their peers.
