Got a call from my wife this afternoon and she asked me if I had a minute to chat. "Of course," I wisely reply. "What's going on?"
"I was in the checkout at Superstore and found myself $20 dollars over budget. A lady behind me passed the $20 dollars to the cashier" and stated "I'd like to care of that for you".
My wife replied "Oh thank you; but, that's OK as I shop on behalf of my employer and it's really not necessary."
The lady would not take no for an answer and insisted she would feel better if the $20 dollars could be accepted.
My lady responded in kind by thanking this lovely and thoughtful individual. "What is your name?" she asked. "Julie, my name is Julie."
"Julie, just so you know, I work with an organization that meets the needs and requirements for adults with disabilities. Your kind contribution has put the receipt to $250 dollars. I will now be able to use this coupon and get a free Turkey. The guys (clients) will now have an Easter turkey dinner."
Julie moved forward and gave my wife a big hug followed by the words "God bless you."
Prince George citizens may share different views and hold different values yet, as a city and as a community, we stand united for all that is good.
God bless you Julie, and to quote Tiny Tim (A Christmas Carol) "God bless us, each and every one of us."
