Tribal chair or First Nation chair, I see by your statement you must only eat fish and moose from your freezer. You say a person who works for $50,000 but strives to reach his or her potential at making more money is wrong? Isolationist thinking is what China, North Korea and other state-controlled countries do and won't allow people freedom to be what they are capable of being. I am a taxpayer, a Canadian and with this title I have responsibilities to pay federal and provincial taxes.
As a taxpayer I must have a job to pay taxes on what I have earned. That money goes to service programs deemed important to Canada. Our country consists of all mixes of humanity and those who work at industry work to make Canada go. A portion of all our tax money goes to support the Natives and is distributed through the elected government. Money is given to the tribal government and what they do with it is up to their discretion. Bottom line - no industry - no work - no taxes - no money for government services. It is the taxpayers of all Canadian nationalities that make Canada operate and have the freedom to make money. It is not just the white man's economy.
