Having recently moved here 10 months ago from Nelson I have noticed a lot of constructive words with no
solution listed in the opinion column.
Recently, thing most in residents' minds is the pothole situation in the city.
Without reinventing the wheel I would propose that we solicit the city for "sand boxes" in strategic positions in our neighborhoods.
The city-provided gravel may be used by the public during icy winter times to create much needed traction and during pothole season as filler to save our
personal suspension.
I have personally witnessed the ingenuity and drive for citizens to find their own solutions to problems.
Not only that but there the willingness to aid a neighbor or friend in time of need.
It's a cheap solution for all involved and the self satisfaction of creating a benefit for those immediately in our reach - our friendly neighbors.
