On Aug. 28, two friends and I were involved in a motor vehicle accident near Bednesti Lake, Highway 16. After leaving the road, we struck a hydro pole and then overturned.

The truck caught fire and eventually was entirely destroyed. If not for the quick actions of numerous citizens of the area who came to our aid we may not have survived the accident.

On behalf of myself, William West and Eric Jacobsen, I would like to especially thank the countless persons who stopped, who gave us chairs, blankets, water, who formed a line to get our effects out of the truck before it was consumed with fire, the excellent care provided by the ambulance crew, the ladies from the Fort Fraser fire hall who looked after traffic control, the ER nurses and doctor at the hospital and the night manager of the Carmel who found us a room that night.

It has been more than a month now and we are all on the road to recovery. You have renewed my faith in those who live in the North to aid their fellow travellers without fail. Thank you.
