I've lived in Foreman Flats for approximately 45 years, a little ways from the outskirts of town.
I've loved every minute of it. I've had beautiful neighbours. We've had our ups and downs but always managed to resolve them between us. But like all things, I guess change is inevitable.
My sister, Jan, has been there longer than I have. We raised our kids here.
This lady has many friends, she loved the birds and wildlife and abused animals often found a home with her. Needless to say, if there was any person that needed a hand she was always there for them, too.
Why then, would someone so callously steal her dog? He's a white Pyrenees shepherd cross.
I know that there was a complaint because he was chasing skiddos and four wheelers on the road in front of her place (which is illegal) but she didn't report it. I think now she wishes she had.
It's too bad that all people don't feel the love and bond people can have with their pet.
They become family. When a pet is lost or stolen, these people suffer as to the fate of their pets. His buddy has hardly eaten anything since he's been gone.
Jan has barely slept listening for him, and crying waiting for him to come home.
She'll not likely ever see Luke again, a young dog that should have been with her for the rest of her life. She'll take his memory to the grave.
Walks to the river and entertaining my sister's bi-polar granddaughter will be missed.
It's pretty rash to steal someone's pet.
My heart goes out to you all who have faced this kind of tragedy.
Please, please give my sister's dog back. He's worth so much more than the money she paid for him, but she's on limited income and just can't pay any more than a $100 reward. Please help. Thank you for listening, and if you have any info please contact the SPCA or RCMP.
