To the emergency response teams of Prince George, B.C.:
My family and I were involved in a off-road vehicle rollover on Highway 16 W near Telachick Road on March 4 at 11:43 p.m.
Thankfully every one was wearing their seat belts and no one was injured. My daughter, age four, had just woken up upside down not knowing what was happening, while my nephew, age seven, had seen the whole thing. During this time, my spouse was already in the back of the truck trying to open the hatch.
It only took a matter of minutes to get all of us out of the truck.
As we are climbing out of the truck, a group of people on their way to Fort St. James and Hazelton had already stopped and called 911.
These wonderful people took us in as if we were family. They had blankets, sweaters and a nice warm car for us to sit and wait for the emergency team to show up.
It only took less than 15 minutes for the firefighters from the Beaverly dispatch to show up to the scene, followed by the paramedics and ambulance a few moments later, along with the RCMP.
The Beaverly firefighters attended to my daughter and nephew right away with two stuffed Dalmatian firefighter dogs, which settled the kids down enough to be questioned and examined. We moved off to the ambulance where we all were examined.
They were all very polite and a hardworking, straight-to-the-point emergency crew.
As we were riding in the ambulance, a wonderful paramedic named Terry was patient enough to fill out his paperwork and answer every single question my daughter and nephew had to ask all the way to the hospital.
Once at the hospital, the nurses at the front desk took us in right away and a security guard kept my daughter and nephew entertained with his security keys while I was answering questions, with the doctor showing up in less than 10 minutes.
I would like thank the emergency teams of Prince George with all of my heart and soul for showing up to the scene, attending to my family and doing a fantastic job in record time. Thank you to the many people that stopped at the scene first. Again, thank you.
